Amazon FBA Fee Increases for 2026
Amazon just rolled out arguably the most complex fee change ever.
In their never-ending pursuit of ofusicating fees so much that no seller can possibly understand how much they're being charged.
In this article we'll break down the effect of the new FBA fee increases scheduled to go in effect January 2026.
Summary of Changes
Here's a summary of the FBA fee changes coming into effect:
- New price tiers for FBA fees. The biggest change is that Amazon is now introducing three price tiers for FBA fees: Items <$10, Items <$50 and Items $50+.
- $50+ Small Standard Size Items Hit Hard. If you sell a small standard size item selling for more than $50, you could potentially see a fee increase of over 15%
- Bulky items lose Ships In Own Product Packaging Discount. What appears to be an FBA fee discount is offset by bulky items losing any SIPP discount.
- Placement fees are going up. Depending on the size category, they're increasing up to 179%
Example Fee Increases, Standard Size Items
We looked at the potential fee increase for both small and large standard size items.
Amazon is now assessing fees based on the price of an item so we looked at the three price tiers.
Small standard size items selling for $50 or more are seeing major fee increases, upwards of 14%-15% in some cases. Large standard size items are much less, either 0-4%.
Bulky Items
We also looked at the potential fee impact on both small and large bulky items.
While it appears that Amazon is decreasing fees, it's not quite the case as Amazon is removing the Ships In Itself Own Packaging (SIPP) discount for these items. If considering this aspect, fees could actually be increasing quite significantly for bulky items.
Placement Fees
Placement fees are where Amazon is really applying pressure to sellers.
Placement fees will go up, on average, from 6% upwards to 179%. The fees are the most severe for large standard items.
Large bulky items are hit less severely with placement fee increases of 2.8% to 13%.
AWD Fee Increases
Amazon is, of course, increasing Amazon Warehousing and Distribution fees after pushing everyone into it over the last couple of years.
Specifically, storage fees will now be $0.57 per cubic foot per month in the West region and stay $0.48 per cubic foot per month in East and South regions.
